Ownership: more than 1 year
Pros: Able to connect from anywhere in my home, even the basement. Cons: Poorly built Linksys router interface
Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: Easy Setup Cons: After about 6 months of use the wireless starts to fail and after 9 months the whole router becomes in Reliable. Sometimes a reboot does not resolve the issue, only a full reset. This is the worst Linksys product I have had so far. Not a good replacement for the WRT54G series. Moving on to an different vendor. Other Thoughts: Nothing more bad product

Works great, but stock firmware isn't the best12/29/2016 10:17:18 PM
Pros: Good range, easy to set up. Proper antennas as opposed to many other cheaper routers these days that have a tiny or no external antenna. Blows the pants off the unit it replaced. Gigabit LAN/WAN ports. Has some useful features like network map and speed test built into the stock firmware. Cons: Stock firmware leaves something to be desired. The initial setup tries to push a cloud account on you. Poor UI design that uses modal dialogs everywhere. Only shows icons for the side toolbar on all except the main page. Other Thoughts: This unit can run current versions of DD-WRT. If you need more than the basics, that's the route to take. Good overall, if you don't mind Linksys Smart Wi-fi12/11/2016 10:25:26 AM
Pros: For those of you who were waiting more than a decade to have your old WRT54G upgrade to something that looks close to the same, now is your chance! It’s roughly twice as long, but the classic colors still will look familiar everyone. Cons: I do not like the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi interface. It wants you to sign up for an online (internet) account first, but you can get away from that and only use a local one. I don’t like the idea of using a global account to access a local device. However, I imagine this is for people who would like to control their router from a tablet or phone, since Linksys does offer an app for network management. However, my personal preference is to keep the accounts local to the router rather than in Linksys’s hands. Other Thoughts: I don’t typically use my routers for anything other than being routers. In this case though, I did test out the USB drive for content. My stats for a 20GB file were ~40MB/s write, 83MB/s read. Pros: Reasonably cheap, lots of ports Cons: Wireless G coverage actually worse than WRT54G Other Thoughts: Not as good as I had hoped. Open Source firmware confusing and fragmented, there are four different builds, which to choose? All of them are flaky.

Pros: It was quite easy to install. My last router was a 100 Mb so this one makes networking very quick. It has great signal strength and great speeds when i run a speed test. Cons: TONS. ALL OF THEM. This router worked really well for two weeks, but then it began to tank. I dealt with it for about 7 months before i got sick and tired of my roommates complaining about the connection. So i began to really look into it. Other Thoughts: It's possible there is something here just eating up the 2.4 band, but i can't find it. I purchased this router so i would have great signal strength, which i do. I always over power all the other networks in the area, but it still has horrible connections.
Hi,
There could be interference in the router's current location as you are only experiencing this through the wireless connection. A solid router all-around, nearly perfect.9/20/2016 6:19:19 PM
Pros: Aside from what's listed below, which is an ugly blot on an otherwise beautiful potato, I really like this router. Cons: - It's not an AC1900 (they cost too much) Other Thoughts: There are numerous reports of the AC1900 version of this router not being compatible with large external HDDs, I should have done my homework. Pros: I was hoping this router would do it for me. My Netgear3700v4 would not do static routes with Netgear firmware or DD-WRT. So I bought a WRT54GL which did the static routes (so the problem was Netgear) with both the stock firmware and DD-WRT. Being greedy, I wanted more features, so I bought this WRT1200AC V2. Well...it forces you to use an RFC1918 address range (192,168.x.x) and will only accept something other than the default if DHCP is turned on. I was considering readdressing my entire network (days of work). Then I found that if will not push out DNS addresses other than what it gets from your Internet provider. I guess DD-WRT spoiled me. Since I am unwilling to readdress my network, don't know if this will do static routers. Cons: Force you into a 192.168.x.x address range; Other Thoughts: This router might be fine for most home users. But if your needs are even slightly beyond, not so good.
